SELEX Sensors and Airborne Systems (S&AS), a Finmeccanica Company, formed by SELEX S&AS in the UK and Galileo Avionica in Italy will exhibit at IDEX 2007 within the Finmeccanica stand. SELEX S&AS will display a range of equipments, products and technologies for Land, Air and Homeland Security capability. For surveillance and control of the battlefield the highly successful Galileo Avionica Mirach 100/5 target drone is being displayed in its UAV RECCE evolution, as well as a new range of mini UAVs.
The Galileo Avionica ATOS Airborne Tactical Observation and Surveillance system, available in various configurations to be easily installed and removed from aircraft, and the Pinzgauer Mobile Surveillance Unit highlight the group’s ability to deliver advanced detection, protection and border control solutions. As part of the ATOS system, or stand alone, the Seaspray 7000E Electronically scanned surveillance radar meets the full spectrum of air, land and sea surveillance requirements.
Seaspray has met the stringent requirements of the US Coast Guard and of the UK maritime Future Lynx helicopter. Also on display SELEX S&AS’ world class ground mapping radar, PicoSAR, provides high resolution synthetic aperture radar as well as ground moving target indication (GMTI) and was specifically designed for the UAV marketplace, PicoSAR first flew in May 2006.
The individual Combat Fire Control and Observation System developed by Galileo Avionica for the Italian Army program “Soldato del Futuro”, features day/night observation and targeting binocular,
multifunctional integrated rifle sight, grenade launcher and helmet mounted display, all new generation compact, lightweight.
As a recognised world leader in battlefield electro-optic systems SELEX S&AS will exhibit the Hydra Remote Networked Sensor System, the HALO acoustic weapon locator system, the LINAPS laser inertial artillery pointing system and the multifunction, panoramic sight, Galileo Avionica Janus. The electro optical family of products also includes the compact and modular aiming and firing system LOTHAR with day/night 24H capability.
The advanced jet trainer M346 developed by Alenia Aermacchi features the Galileo Avionica Mission Core System, advanced integrated mission computer and system, HUD and AMCLD.
