Locust USA, Inc. a Miami, Fla., company, has been awarded a contract by Honeywell International, Inc. Defense & Space of Albuquerque, N.M., for development of the Heavy Fuel Propulsion System for the US Army Future Combat Systems (FCS) Class I Unmanned Aerial Vehicle.
The US Army FCS Class I UAV is a small vertical take-off and landing (VTOL) reconnaissance and surveillance system designed to provide soldiers with improved situational awareness without exposing them to enemy fire.
The new and innovative Locust LTS5-CI USA micro-turbo-fan will be at the core of the FCS Class I UAV ducted fan propulsion system.
