TranSec Expansion Plus Launch for India

LONDON, 29 AUGUST 2007 - This year marked the 5th edition of TranSec World Expo held in June at EXPO XXI Centre, Amsterdam. Following the event’s success, the Organisers are pleased to announce expansion and change of venue for TranSec ‘World’ Expo taking place 25-26 June 2008 and also the launch of TranSec ‘India’ Expo, which is planned later in the year on 12-13 November 2008 at TAJ Palace Hotel, Delhi.

WORLD

TranSec World Expo 2007 received an impressive 1,589 Heads, Managers and Directors of Transport Security as well as integrators from 49 countries. Just two months since the event, an unprecedented 100% of the 2007 stand space has already been sold for 2008. Therefore a decision has been taken to move the event to a larger and more suitable venue, PTA Amsterdam allowing for additional growth.

Peter Jones, Event Director, commented ‘PTA is an exciting move for TranSec World Expo giving us scope to expand the show. PTA is better located just a 10-minute walk from Central Station. Importantly, PTA also allows us to maintain the proven layout in keeping the Conference, Seminars & Workshops together with Exhibitors in one area."

INDIA

India is one of the fastest growing economies in the world and its transportation infrastructure is growing at a phenomenal rate. This has been further boosted by upcoming major events including 2010 Commonwealth Games and 2011 Cricket World Cup.

India has 125 airports; 11 of which are international, including Delhi which is currently under major reconstruction. According to a report from the Ministry of Civil Aviation, India’s aviation sector is expected to enjoy 25% per annum growth for the next 10 years. India also has 180 Ports, where containers are the fastest growing cargo traffic. Plus, major expansion plans for its rail network, which is the largest of its kind globally and also new projects underway for its vast Highways system.

The Indian transportation market presents extraordinary opportunities for suppliers of security technologies, systems and know-how. To this end, TranSec India Expo will offer an essential platform to bring buyers and specifiers together with sellers.

TranSec India Expo is planned for 12-13 November 2008 at TAJ Palace Hotel Delhi, where alongside the exhibition will be a series of Conferences and Workshops to cater for the requirement of knowledge from Indian transport security professionals.

Peter Jones, Event Director, commented "India is the next logical step for TranSec. Following close consultation with the industry, out of all of the emerging markets we proposed, India received the highest vote of support.

Speakers and Supporters of the TranSec events have included leading organisations such as: IMO, WCO, ICAO, IAPH, USCG, NATO, ISCO, ISO, European Commission, UK Department for Transport, BORDERPOL and UK Revenue and Customs.
