25/02/08: L-3 Awarded Contract To Build Bell 412 Simulator Cockpit

ARLINGTON, Tex., Feb. 25, 2008 – L-3 Communications (NYSE: LLL) announced today that it has been awarded a contract to design and build a simulated Bell 412 helicopter cockpit. L-3 will deliver the simulated Bell 412 helicopter cockpit to Aegis Technologies Group Inc. in 2008. “We look forward to delivering a high fidelity simulated cockpit for the Bell 412 training system,” said Greg Campbell, general manager of L-3 Link Simulation and Training division’s AMI Instruments (AMI) organization. “When the cockpit is integrated with motion, visual and operating systems the end product will result in a superior training device that will provide excellent pilot training for this highly capable commercial helicopter.”

07/02/08: CAE signs contracts with the government of India to provide pilot training in two national flight academies

NEW DELHI, India, Feb. 7 /CNW Telbec/ - (NYSE: CGT; TSX: CAE) - CAE has signed a contract to become the managing partner of the Indian government’s flight training academy: Indira Gandhi Rashtriya Uran Akademi (IGRUA). CAE has also formalized and signed a joint venture agreement with the Airport Authority of India (AAI) to develop the Rajiv Gandhi National Flying Training Institute (RGNFTI). Memorandums of understanding for these contracts were announced during the Paris Air Show in June 2007. The signings were attended by Mr. Ashok Chawla, Secretary, Ministry of Civil Aviation; Mr. R. K. Singh, Joint Secretary for the Ministry of Civil Aviation of the Government of India; Dr. K. 06/02/08: OH-58D Operational Flight Trainers delivered by L-3 enter Service on U.S. Army’s Flight School XXI Program

ARLINGTON, Tex., Feb. 5, 2008 – L-3 Communications (NYSE: LLL) announced today that two OH-58D Operational Flight Trainers (OFTs) it delivered to the U.S. Army’s Flight School XXI program have entered service. Use of these simulators marks the first time ever that Kiowa Warrior aircrews have been able to hone their skills on a full motion, high fidelity flight trainer. “The Flight School XXI program has been designed from the outset to improve the readiness of operational units by developing U.S. Army aviators that are highly skilled in their go-to-war aircraft,” said Lenny Genna, vice president of Army Programs at L-3 Link Simulation and Training. “The ability for OH-58D aircrews to now be able to conduct individual or networked training within modern operational flight trainers supports this Flight School XXI objective.”

23/01/08: Sabena Airline Training Center (“SATC”) first to receive Eclipse 500 FAA Type Rating Training Approval

Sabena Airline Training Center, a world leading JAA & FAA independent flight training organization based in Mesa Falcon Field, AZ, USA was granted the Eclipse EA500 Type Rating Training Approval by the FAA. They become the first approved training center worldwide able to offer Eclipse 500 Type Rating Courses, an achievement of which Kris Van den Bergh, Managing Director and Head of Training is extremely proud. Sabena Airline Training Center acquired its first Eclipse 500 aircraft in August 2007. More aircraft will join the fleet over the course of 2008 as the number of delivered Eclipse aircraft increases and the owner pilots need training.

22/12/07: Online Fligtsimulation increases real aviation safety: VATSIM and MITRE agree partnership

VATSIM and MITRE’s Center for Advanced Aviation System Development (CAASD) have joined together to conduct aviation systems research using the VATSIM network as a test environment for proof of concept and hypothesis testing of new ATC solutions. Richard Jenkins of VATSIM writes, “This program is the direct result of the exacting standards required to fly and control on VATSIM and is a direct tribute to your tireless efforts to simulate as real as it gets. 19/12/07: CAE wins AUD$180 million (C$160 million) contract to provide MRH90 helicopter training to Australian Defence Forces

13/12/07: Netherlands MoD signs two contracts with CAE valued at C$60 million: CAE will design and deliver C-130H and KDC-10 full-mission simulators - CAE will provide 15 years of maintenance and support services

MONTREAL, Dec. 13 /CNW Telbec/ - (NYSE: CGT; TSX: CAE) - CAE announced today that the Netherlands Ministry of Defence (NL MoD) has signed two contracts with a combined value of C$60 million ((euro)43 million) for CAE to design two full-mission simulators (FMS) for the Royal Netherlands Air Force (RNLAF) as well as provide comprehensive maintenance and support services. CAE will design and manufacture one C-130H FMS and one KDC-10 FMS for the RNLAF to support flight and mission training. Both simulators will be qualified to Level D standards, the highest qualification for flight simulators, by the Netherlands Militaire Luchtvaart Autoriteit (Military Aviation Authority). The simulators will be delivered and made ready for training in early 2009.

03/12/07: Emirates-CAE Flight Training to provide helicopter training to India’s Global Vectra Helicorp

Dubai, UAE - December 3, 2007 – Emirates-CAE Flight Training (ECFT) has signed a three-year contract to provide helicopter training for Global Vectra Helicorp (GVHL), India’s largest offshore helicopter operator. Global Vectra’s flight crew will undergo training on the Bell Helicopter 412 full-flight simulator at ECFT’s facility in Dubai for both recurrent and initial type training. “I am very pleased to welcome Global Vectra to Emirates-CAE Flight Training,” said Walter Visser, Managing Director, ECFT. “I am confident its flight crew will receive the highest level of training, in pleasant and secure surroundings. 26/11/07: CAE achieves industry first with Level D certification of 3.2 MPixel LCoS system

Montreal, November 26, 2007 – (NYSE: CGT; TSX: CAE) – CAE announced today that its CAE Tropos™-6000 visual system and 3.2 megapixel (MPixel) Liquid Crystal on Silicon (LCoS) projectors have obtained Level D certification on a CAE-built Airbus A320 full-flight simulator (FFS) for Air France. This Level D certification, the highest available for a FFS, is an industry first for this resolution of high-performance fixed-matrix LCoS projectors. The CAE-built A320 FFS, currently installed and now ready for training at Air France’s training centre in Paris, was certified by the DGAC, France’s civil aviation authority.

21/11/07: Elite hands helicopter simulator distribution rights to Helisim

One of the world’s leading designers and manufacturers of PC-based flight simulators, Elite Simulation Solutions, has handed sales and marketing rights of its helicopter simulator line to Helisim GmbH – a company run by Timo Kläui, who was Elite’s CEO from 1995 – 2002. The two companies say the outsourcing move will give a much sharper focus to the development and promotion of Elite’s helicopter simulators, which will strongly be aimed at the FNPT (Flight & Navigation Procedures Trainer) market. The new deal gives Helisim the exclusive distribution rights all over the world except in the Americas (USA, Canada, Central and South America).

19/11/07: CAE to manage AirAsia’s Type Rating Training Organization (TRTO) and provide pilot training services to AirAsia

Montreal, November 19, 2007 – (NYSE: CGT; TSX: CAE) – CAE and AirAsia have signed a contract which gives CAE the responsibility of managing AirAsia’s Type Rating Training Organization (TRTO) located at the AirAsia Academy, KLIA Kuala Lumpur to provide pilot training for all of AirAsia’s current and future pilots. CAE will also market excess training capacity of AirAsia’s TRTO to third parties. The contract is valued at more than C$50 million (about RM175 million) over 10 years. Starting in 2008, CAE will begin offering the pilot training services at AirAsia’s six-bay simulator training centre at AirAsia Academy, which is located near the KLIA Low Cost Carrier Terminal in Kuala Lumpur. The TRTO is equipped with three simulators: two Airbus A320s belonging to AirAsia and a Boeing 737-300 owned by CAE. As part of the agreement, CAE will add another Airbus A320 simulator and an Airbus A330 simulator within the next 14 months. CAE will conduct initial Type Rating and Cross Crew Qualification (CCQ) courses for Airbus A320, Airbus A330, and Boeing 737 aircraft exclusively for AirAsia.

07/11/07: Government of Canada qualifies CAE-led team for C-130J and CH-47 aircrew training capability

MONTREAL, Nov. 7 /CNW Telbec/ - (NYSE: CGT; TSX: CAE) - The Government of Canada notified CAE that its response to the Government’s Statement of Interest and Qualification (SOIQ) for an Operational Training Systems Provider (OTSP) has been deemed compliant. The OTSP is in support of the C-130J and CH-47 aircraft procurements announced earlier this year by the Government of Canada. CAE, which leads a team of Canadian companies pursuing this program, was advised that it was the only bidder deemed compliant by the Government of Canada.

09/10/07: CAE introduces CAE TrueTM Airport service, which will provide current, up-to-date visual databases on demand

Montreal, October 9, 2007 – (NYSE: CGT; TSX: CAE) – CAE announced today at the Flight Simulator Engineering and Maintenance Conference it is introducing a new subscription-based service called CAE TrueTM Airport. The service is designed to keep the customers’ visual databases current with constantly changing airport environments. The CAE True Airport service will offer airlines and third-party training providers operating CAE visual systems the concurrency of the airport scenes in the visual databases used for flight training. CAE will maintain customer-selected visual airport databases current and up-to-date, and then make these updated databases immediately available for download through a user-friendly web portal. The databases will be compatible with CAE TroposTM-6000 and CAE TroposTM II image generators and will be certifiable to Level D qualification standards according to Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) and European Joint Aviation Authority (JAA) requirements.

02/10/07: Sim-Industries B737-700/800 full flight simulator recieved JARSTD level D approval at Sabena Flight Academy

Steenokkerzeel, 02 October 2007 - Sabena Flight Academy’s (SFA) acquired B737-700/800 Full Flight Simulator (FFS) from Sim-Industries was granted a JARSTD1A Level D certificate by the Belgian Civil Aviation Authorities. “With the arrival of the B737-NG in Sabena Flight Academy’s Full Flight Simulator family, we also welcome our first Indian customer in Brussels besides our existing 70 mainly European & African based customers” said Jacques Waldeyer, Chairman & CEO of Sabena Flight Academy. 27/09/07: CAE awarded contracts for three full-flight simulators and training devices valued at C$50 million: Alteon Training orders Boeing 747-8 FFS - Virgin Blue orders Boeing 777-300ER FFS - Lion Air orders Boeing 737-900ER FFS

MONTREAL, Sept. 27 /CNW Telbec/ - (NYSE: CGT; TSX: CAE) - CAE has signed contracts to design and manufacture three full-flight simulators (FFSs) and associated CAE Simfinity(R) training devices valued at approximately C$50 million at list prices. This brings the total FFS sales that CAE has announced in fiscal 2008 to 21. CAE won a contract to design and manufacture a CAE 7000 Series Boeing 747-8 full-flight simulator (FFS) for Alteon Training, a subsidiary of the Boeing Company. In addition to the Boeing 747-8 FFS, Alteon ordered a suite of CAE Simfinity ground school training devices for the new Boeing 747-8 aircraft, including a CAE Simfinity integrated procedures trainer (IPT) and 36 virtual maintenance trainers (VMTs). The Boeing 747-8 FFS, which will also be convertible to a Boeing 747-400 FFS, and associated training devices will be delivered to Alteon in the fall of 2009.
