Teledyne Controls and Airbus Recognize Philippine Airlines as the 100th AirFASE® Customer

El Segundo, CA –  May 15, 2008 – Teledyne Controls, a business unit of Teledyne Technologies Incorporated (NYSE: TDY), announced today that they have received an order from Philippine Airlines for AirFASE®, a flight data monitoring solution jointly developed by Teledyne Controls and Airbus. Teledyne Controls and Airbus also announce reaching an industry milestone with this purchase by recognizing Philippine Airlines as their 100th AirFASE (Aircraft Flight Analysis and Safety Explorer) customer. Designed to assist operators with their flight operations, safety management and aircraft maintenance programs, AirFASE will be used by Philippine Airlines to monitor their fleet of A319, A320, A330, A340 and B747-400 aircraft.

“We are proud to be the 100th AirFASE customer,” said Reuben Sternberg, Vice President for Safety and Environment with Philippine Airlines. “We selected AirFASE for its ease of use, customization options and sophisticated analysis tools, which we believe will enhance our FDM capabilities and help us manage our flight data more efficiently.”

“We are very pleased that Philippine Airlines selected AirFASE for their Flight Data Monitoring program,” said Peter Clapp, Director of Sales and Marketing for Teledyne Controls’ Flight Data Solutions. “With 100 customers soon to be using the product, AirFASE is demonstrating a growing maturity and providing a user-friendly solution to meet the FDM requirements.”

Designed to translate aircraft data into meaningful information, AirFASE enables operators to evaluate flight operations trends, identify risk precursors, and take early preventive and corrective actions. The system performs all the major functions of the FDM process and contains a sophisticated Flight Analysis Program (FAP), unique to each aircraft type, that reconstructs the flight, compares actual data with recommended operational limits and highlights abnormal events and trends. Visualization tools, including 3D animation, allow for the easy review of flight profiles, while a powerful and configurable report editor delivers comprehensive and customizable reports. AirFASE is compatible with all major types of commercial transport aircraft. Jointly developed by Teledyne Controls and Airbus, AirFASE was launched in 2004 and is now utilized by over 100 operators worldwide. AirFASE offers a proven flight data analysis solution that allows operators to maintain their flight operations monitoring programs and comply with regulatory agencies’ recommendations and requirements.
