Fly into the fly2help Fly-In and help others leave their worries on the ground

On Saturday July 21st the fly2help.org Foundation is organising two very special events at its Kemble Airport base. Both the daytime fly-in and an evening function are being held to raise funds for the Foundation, which offers disadvantaged youngsters the chance to take to the skies and leave their worries behind. The daytime fly-in runs from 1pm through until 5pm and admission is free. Kemble Airport has kindly agreed to donate all landing fees to the Foundation, but only for those aircraft which have obtained PPR prior to July 16 (so book your slot now!).  Among the presentations planned for the afternoon is a candid talk about ‘Flying the Spitfire’ by Rolls-Royce test pilot (and fly2help.org CEO) Phill O’Dell. Staff from fly2help.org staff will also be on hand to explain why your support is so important.

Throughout the day the popular AV8 restaurant will host an exclusive exhibition and sale of aviation images from the lens of leading photographer Jamie Hunter. Jamie will be on hand to answer your photographic queries and there will be the chance to buy copies of some of his most dramatic imagery. Jamie is also generously donating profits to the Foundation!

Visitors will also be able to place advance bids for exciting items that are to be auctioned during the day’s second event.

A limited number of spaces are also available for an exclusive evening function in the AV8 restaurant. Tickets must be purchased in advance and cost £25 per head including buffet.

Taking place from 6pm til late, the event will include presentations by Eurofighter Typhoon test pilot Craig Penrice, Tornado F.3 navigator Sqn Ldr Gareth Littlechild and members of the Battle of Britain Memorial Flight (BBMF). The latter are also bringing (weather & serviceability permitting) the Lancaster, Spitfire and Hurricane into Kemble during the evening!

Throughout the event you will have the chance to bid for exclusive limited edition Jamie Hunter photographs, other memorabilia and a rare opportunity to take an ‘up-close and personal’ ground tour of the BBMF aircraft (to be taken before the aircraft leaves Kemble the following morning – July 22).

The entry price also includes a raffle ticket (others will be available during the night!) to win a flight in the fly2help.org Chipmunk or a meal in AV8 worth £50.

To book a PPR slot or to purchase tickets for the evening function, please contact fly2help’s Marketing & Fundraising Director Mandy Pantall on [email protected] or call 07824 367703.
