It was with regret that staff at the Imperial War Museum Duxford heard of the death of Ray Hanna

A former leader of the Red Arrows, Ray Hanna set up the Old Flying Machine Company with his late son Mark Hanna in 1981. His skilled flying demonstrations at air displays made Ray among the world’s best-known air show pilots.

“Ray Hanna has been associated with flying at Duxford for over two decades and was very well known to our visitors” said Richard Ashton, Duxford’s Director, “The OFMC was one of the first flying partner organisations to be based at Duxford and Ray’s contribution to the appeal of Duxford has been immense. A gentleman and quintessential pilot, Ray Hanna will be greatly missed by all of his friends at Duxford.”
