Houston TX – The Texas Department of Public Safety took delivery of the newest member of their fleet, an AS350B2 at a ceremony conducted at the ALEA (Airborne Law Enforcement Association) convention today on the American Eurocopter booth. “The AStar has proven to be a great platform for executing our police mission, we are excited today to be adding yet another AS350B2 to our fleet and continuing our relationship with American Eurocopter,” said Jack Reichert, Texas DPS Chief Pilot.
The AS350 – AStar has become the reference for law enforcement missions in the United States. It is equipped with a powerful yet economical 732 shp Turbomeca Arriel 1D1 engine, with room for six plus pilot and a sling capacity of more than 2,555lbs. The AS350 is uniquely adaptable for the full range of law enforcement missions from special operations to emergency medevacs.
“We are extremely proud that the agency that debuted the first law enforcement equipped AS350 in the United States has validated that choice by now adding this number 10 AStar to their growing A350 fleet,” said Larry Roberts, American Eurocopter Vice President Commercial Affairs.
