HOUSTON – Sikorsky Aircraft subsidiary Helicopter Support, Inc. (HSI) today announced that it has entered into a new distribution arrangement with Robertson Aviation L.L.C. for Robertson’s extended-range aircraft fuel tanks. Sikorsky Aircraft is a subsidiary of United Technologies Corp. (NYSE:UTX). Under the new arrangement, HSI will be the exclusive distributor to non-U.S. Government customers of Robertson systems for rotorcraft built by Sikorsky and other selected helicopter variants. Robertson will retain responsibility for systems built for other airframes and for all sales to the U.S. Government.
Officials from HSI and Robertson Aviation signed the distribution agreement at Heli-Expo today in Houston. Robertson Aviation, based in Tempe, Ariz., is a world leader in the design, development and production of reliable, crashworthy, extended-range fuel systems for aircraft, primarily helicopters. HSI, based in Trumbull, Conn., provides service and logistics solutions to commercial and military aircraft fleets worldwide.
“This agreement provides significant opportunities for both Sikorsky and Robertson Aviation,” said David Adler, Senior Vice President for Sikorsky Aerospace Services, which includes HSI. “We are able to expand our portfolio with a well-known and respected brand and product, while Robertson Aviation gains access to HSI’s global network and expertise particularly in military helicopter solutions.”
Tom Harrison, Robertson’s President, agreed. “We are pleased to announce this new distribution arrangement with HSI. This will give Robertson the resources on the ground to reach more overseas customers and better serve our existing international customer base.”
