Maverick Helicopters, the world’s biggest EC 130B4 operator (ECO Star), has just placed a first order for 19 air particle separators from the new generation produced by CGTM. Ultimately, the entire fleet (50 helicopters) will be fitted with these sand filters, ordered through American Eurocopter. Maverick Helicopters is an air operator specialized in VIP tourism and offers daily rotor wing tours of the Grand Canyon from its Las Vegas base, to the tune of 1,100 flying hours per helicopter and per year on average.
Maverick Helicopters finds significant advantages in the “Vortex” technology over rival barrier filter technologies, especially in terms of operating and maintenance costs. After more than 400 flying hours on a helicopter equipped with the filter, John Mandernach, Vice-President of Maintenance, is highly satisfied: “The install went well and the filter is working great.” For memory, the CGTM filter is EASA, FAA and Transport Canada certified.
CGTM sees in this positive feedback from a major operator in the USA and in referencing with American Eurocopter the possibility of extensively developing its sales on the North American market.
