AgustaWestland Expands Its Presence In Malaysia With A119 Koala And Grand Helicopter Contracts

AgustaWestland is pleased to announce the signing of two contracts with two different Malaysian private customers: an AgustaWestland Grand to Weststar Aviation Sdn. Bhd for VIP/Corporate transport missions and an A119 Koala purchased by Innovest Aviation Sdn. Bhd. Both helicopters will be configured for Corporate/VIP transport.

The Grand to Weststar Aviation Sdn. Bhd will be delivered in 2007 and it will be configured with six passenger VIP interior to shuttle people between Kuala Lumpur and Singapore in just over 1 hour of flight. Weststar Aviation Sdn. Bhd is the latest addition to the growing number of aviation operators worldwide benefiting from the performance of the Grand. Since the AgustaWestland Grand was unveiled at the Farnborough International Airshow in 2004 over 100 orders have been placed by customers in Europe, North and South America, Asia, Australasia, Africa and the Middle East. The aircraft has dominated sales in its class in the corporate/VIP transport market where over 50% of its sales have been made.

The A119 KOALA purchased by Innovest Aviation Sdn. Bhd will be a seven-seat VIP configured and it will be delivered in 2007. Sales of the A119 Koala now exceed 100 as the popularity of this high performance 8-place single engine helicopter grows around the world in the corporate/VIP transport as well as in the offshore transport, EMS and law enforcement markets.

These new sales strengthen the AgustaWestland presence in the Far East region with more than 20 helicopters in service in the Malaysian market. AgustaWestland has already established a Maintenance Service Centre at Subang Airport, Kuala Lumpur, to support these and other AgustaWestland commercial helicopters operating in Malaysia and neighboring countries.
