The Association of European Airlines shall in general serve the common interests of the members of the Association.
 
It shall represent the interests of its members to the institutions of the European Union, to the European Civil Aviation Conference, to any other institutional organisations or association involved in or likely to be involved in issues of interest to AEA members and, as appropriate, to individual governments.
 
It shall advance co-operation amongst its members on any matter likely to be of interest to the membership as a whole and permitted by the laws of the countries in which they operate, whilst respecting the independence of action of its members individually.
