The GW Certificate in Aviation Safety and Security is designed to take a comprehensive approach to integrating safety and security in Air Transportation. Participants will be challenged to examine paradigm shifts in the integration of safety and security in this mode of transportation with full consideration of:
- Management, and financing safety and security in a global context - Airline operations and airport security management - Safety principles and technical issues - Government regulations - Risk management and response to disasters - Survivability and aircraft crashworthiness - Human factors The GW Aviation Safety and Security Certificate Program was established in October 1997 when a five-day comprehensive course was offered that attracted leaders throughout the world. The GW Aviation Institute expanded this into a full certificate program following this success. The Certificate program is formally offered by the University to provide a unique forum for aviation safety and security professionals to gain additional and new perspectives to their fields. This program strives to bring industry and government leaders and managers together in a conducive and interactive setting. Classes are held at the Virginia Campus of the George Washington University in Ashburn, Virginia. Learn from top industry, academic and government experts. Determine how to develop and administer an effective safety and security program. Consider regulations, security and risk management, accident investigation and more.
