The second Challenge Island of La Palma is a Paragliding competition of distance flights that will give away a total of 24,000 euros in prizes for pilots in 3 categories (general, DHV1/1-2 gliders, and up to DHV2 gliders). The objective is to attract a high number of pilots to the warm and sunny Canary Island and promote paragliding at this beautiful location. The first 50 classified will enter the Final Phase, scheduled for December 1 to 9th 2007, in which they will have to fight for the juicy 1st prize of 8,000 euros. The final phase will be a competition with set tasks, usually turnpoints circuits that must be closed as many times as possible in a fixed time frame. Nations teams and factories/brands teams are welcome to participate in this Challenge, and there are trophies for the top 3.
