Description :  
The FAI World Air Sports Challenge, incorporating the FAI World Series Gliding Finals will feature elite pilots from around the world representing the official Fédération Aéronautique International (FAI) sports including gliding, hang gliding, paragliding, fixed-wing aerobatics, ballooning, helicopters aeromodelling and parachuting. With run-up competitions taking place in the Mackenzie Basin from 19-24 December and the public spectator days at Wanaka on 27-28 December 2007, the FAI World Air Sports Challenge is the largest event of its kind the world has ever seen and promises to be a spectacular showcase of daring flying and adrenalin-charged competition. The action will be brought to spectators on the ground via a big screen fed by the latest Sony High Definition technologies together with real time graphics and specially designed in-cockpit camera systems. These images will also be broadcast live to computer screens around the world through a specially developed live Internet streaming platform.
