SAVANNAH, Ga., March 5, 2008 – Brian Waymire has been named general manager of the General Dynamics Aviation Services (GDAS) site in Las Vegas. He reports to Barry Russell, vice president and general manager of the Gulfstream facility in Long Beach, Calif. As general manager, Waymire oversees all aspects of the maintenance, repair and overhaul facility that services Challengers, Falcons, Gulfstreams, Hawkers and other business-jet aircraft. Waymire joined Gulfstream in 1997 as a production/flight mechanic in Savannah. He transferred to the Gulfstream service center in Dallas as a senior technician in 2000 and then became a crew chief and service team manager. He left Gulfstream in 2005 to work as an assistant site manager, maintaining the Gulfstream fleet for the U.S. Air Force in Europe. When Waymire returned to Gulfstream in 2006, he became the operations manager for GDAS Las Vegas.
Waymire launched his aerospace career in the U.S. Air Force, spending seven years as an F-16 crew chief in the European, Pacific and North American theaters. He has an Airframe and Powerplant (A&P) license and earned a bachelor’s degree in business from the University of Phoenix.
