Detroit Metro Airport’s McNamara Terminal Voted Best Convenience Retail Program in North America

DETROIT, MI — Airports Council International–North America (ACI-NA), the leading association of commercial airports in the United States and Canada, recently named Detroit Metro Airport’s (DTW) McNamara Terminal as home to the Best Convenience Retail Program in North America among large airports in its 2007 Excellence in Airport Concessions Contest. DTW’s McNamara Terminal was honored for its mix, quality, brands, sales and build-out of its convenience retail offerings, such as newsstands and convenience stores.

“We are very proud of our McNamara Terminal Concession Program,” said Metro Airport CEO Lester Robinson. “Our concession management team and operators work very hard to make sure our airport retail and food and beverage offerings are among the best in the world, and we are extremely honored to receive this recognition from our industry peers through ACI-NA.”

The McNamara Terminal convenience retail program includes a mix of well executed, locally-themed stores like the DTW Press and www.news.gifts.detroit, which offer travelers a fun, interesting, and distinctly Detroit shopping experience. In addition, recognizable brands like CNN Newsstand, CNBC News/Gifts, and Everything ASAP provide world-class news, information and convenience items for travelers’ every need.
