Brussels – 20 August 2007: Aviapartner Handling has added an important customer to its customer portfolio in Munich, South African Airways, for the provision of Ramp Handling Services for their new Munich-Johannesburg route, which commenced operations on 4 July 2007. South African Airways initially operates 3 flights per week with Airbus A340-300 aircraft, increasing to a daily operation as from the Winter 2007-8 schedule period.
Aviapartner Handling Munich provides the full range of ramp handling services to South African Airways: loading and unloading of aircraft, ground power, cleaning, water and sanitary services, freight and baggage transfer, crew transfer, headset, pushback and towing, aircraft de-icing, and operations (flight documentation, communication, weight and balance, crew briefing, and flight supervision).
This new contract in Munich is a significant customer acquisition as this is Aviapartner Germany’s first long-haul wide-body scheduled carrier. Aviapartner is confident that this major step forward will open the way for negotiations towards other wide-body carriers
