Passengers flying from London with Iberia can obtain their boarding cards from www.iberia.com web site

The Spanish airline is the first of the 29 using Heathrow’s Terminal 2 to offer on-line check-in. This option, which can be used up to two hours before departure, will reduce airport waiting time. All Iberia passengers flying from London’s Heathrow Airport may now check in for their flights and obtain their boarding cards online before leaving for the airport.

The Spanish airline thus becomes the first of the 29 carriers operating from Heathrow’s Terminal 2 to offer this convenience to its customers, and the third of the 92 companies using the other Heathrow terminals to allow online check-in for flights departing from London.

Last May, Iberia launched its free online check-in option in Spain, and the option has been welcomed in the marketplace –currently more than 5,100 customers obtain their Iberia boarding cards online each day.

By using this free online service, which includes the possibility of choosing seats in the aircraft, passengers can print their own boarding cards at home or at work, and forget about check-in counters and automatic check-in machines, proceeding directly to boarding gates when they arrive at the airport, for a considerable saving of time and trouble. The online check-in service may be used with both traditional paper ticket an e-tickets, regardless of whether they were purchased from travel agents, Iberia ticket offices, the Iberia Call Centre, or www.iberia.com, and regardless of whether or not passengers have baggage to check. In addition, when customers forget to provide their Iberia Plus or associated loyalty programme card numbers when making their reservation, they have another chance to so in the online check-in process.

In Spain online check-in is available for all Iberia group domestic flights except those of the walk-on Madrid-Barcelona shuttle (Puente Aéreo), and for the great majority of European flights. Iberia is working to extend this service to all its flights for which verification of identity documents is not required, thus saving its customers time at airports, especially when they are carrying only hand luggage.
