EAA SportAir Workshops Travels to the Northwest in October

September 10, 2008 — The EAA SportAir Workshop program will be in the Seattle area with three of our most popular classes on October 18-19: Sheet Metal Basics, Electrical Systems and Avionics, and What’s Involved in Kitbuilding. The workshops will take place at the Arlington Fly-In facilities on the Arlington Municipal Airport in Washington. Sheet Metal Basics presents the essential elements of metal aircraft construction. During this session you’ll learn about materials and fasteners, and will work to building a small sheet metal wing section. All tools and materials are supplied.

Electrical Systems and Avionics will cover the basics of antenna mounting, coaxial cable installation, radio systems wiring, soldering and crimping components, alternator and electrical system requirements, and the installation of electrical systems. Participants will also complete several hands-on practice projects. EAA member price for each course is $289.

What’s Involved in Kit Building is a fact-filled Saturday evening seminar discussing all the elements relating to building your own aircraft. This course may be taken in conjunction with other workshops and includes a pizza dinner. The cost is $25, and participants can bring up to two additional family members with them.
